![]() Maybe he could convince other artists to sell their music exclusively on his website and they get paid better too. The device was launched in August 2021 in conjunction with the release of Wests 10th studio album Donda. If Kanye sticks to his guns and doesn't put Donda 2 on streaming platforms, he'll get paid properly for his music instead of getting fractions of a cent for a stream. The Stem Player is an audio remix device and music streaming platform developed by British technology company Kano Computing in collaboration with American artist Kanye West. The other function I wanted from a beat making perspective is the ability to just focus on one part of a song. I can record and download those stems and put them into ableton and tweak them. Sometimes I hear a song I want to sample. The stem player gives me two functions I've been wanting for a while. It's like a game and a good introduction for people new to djing/remixing/producing. Music distribution and payments platform Stem has announced a 20 million raise and detailed plans to launch a range of tools to artists. Remixing a song on the stem player is fun. I think it could be a game changer for a few few reasons: It seems the website and the player are updating all the time. TLDR: Where do you see the stem player being used in the future? What about the stem player gives it the potential to be revolutionary in the industry? What are some changes to the website or stem player device you would like to see in the future or you think need to be made? ![]() Also, based this picture below posted in the stem player discord, where would this put new artists who don't have much of a following but want to reap the benefits of uploading their music to the stem player? Since the concept has been developed since the JJK era I was hoping the website would have been more developed as well since that was over two years ago. Those of us who are currently buying in on the "vision" Ye has for it Where do you see the stem player being used after the Donda 2 era is over? I am satisfied with my purchase (got it the weekend it released), but I find a hard time trying to explain why it is "revolutionary" or "game changing" for music producers outside of remixing songs on the go and early album access.Īlso, I know Kanye has talked about using Stem Player as a means for artists to make more money by circumventing the streaming platforms and record labels by uploading music to stem player instead however, I don't think most people are going to by in unless there is a more accessible means of listening to songs from the website. Currently, with the buggy website and high price, I don't see it taking off as much as stans (me included) are hoping it will. A Stem file contains a track split into four musical elements: a drums stem, a bassline stem, a melody stem and a vocal stem for example. About the Stem format: As an open multi-track audio format, Stems enhances creative possibilities for DJs, producers, and live performers. I am not saying I disagree that it has the potential to make waves in the industry but I am wanted people's thoughts and opinions on why they think it will change music production or the industry as a whole. If you have any suggestions or comments. ![]()
